Mirabilis welwitschia

Welwitschia mirabilis is one of the world’s most extraordinary and ancient plants, native to the Namib Desert of Namibia and Angola. It belongs to the family Welwitschiaceae and is often called a “living fossil” because it has survived for millions of years with very little evolutionary change.
